"I'm fine," she says
as things unravel
and pieces of her float away
"I'm okay," she says
and something dark and terrible
lurks in every shadowed corner
"It's alright," she says
but every lie
costs another little part of her
"It's all good," she says
because it always is
even though she's dead behind her smile
a string of pretty words
uncoiling from a wounded soul
those pretty, anguished, desperate words
interpreted with unseeing eyes
spoken with uncaring mouths
dismissed of all meaning
void of all feeling
a string of empty words
flutter from a fractured soul
I scream
inside of my smile
but you don't want to hear
I drown
within my fears
but you don't want to see
you force me
to die a little
every day
just so you can say
that everything's alright
you've lost me
somewhere along the way
but it's okay
I'm gonna be just fine
they say it only takes a little while
to adjust to the dark

dew-dropped beads
upon the leaves
of night and light and life
in barren lands
of silver sands
await arise anew
in deep belongs
the whispered songs
of death and life and faye
blackened lair
the darkness bears
the mark of everlasting
and so to be
the tranquil seas
that deepened in the ages
and so before
and evermore
the sunshine and the moon
a faraway soon
the world chaotic
revolves around the moon
wings of flight
unfold across a sky eternal
and descend akin to twilight
always is the day
bright and ever waning
with edges formed to fray
upon a distant shore
stoic sand and breaking wave
play out a distant war
vanishing in a shifting dune
the sand of time
whisper of a discordant tune
beneath the shade
of an evasive sky
all begins to fade
a faraway soon
the world chaotic
revolves around the moon
wings of flight
unfold across a sky eternal
